Quick 6 – Meet Samantha

As I entered our West Hills location, I was immediately greeted with a smile that I knew could easily make anyone’s day instantly better. That contagious smile belongs to our own Samantha (Sammy) Farag.

After years of frequenting the restaurant with her family, Sammy joined our team in 2010 and continued to work with us throughout her high school and college years. After graduating with her degree in Liberal Studies for elementary teaching, we made it official, and she became the newest member of our management team.

We’re very lucky to have snagged Sammy and her infectious smile. After sitting down with her, I’ve come to learn that this smile matches her personality and her ability to create friendships with everyone she encounters. She truly is a wonderful addition to our Team in West Hills. Here are a few questions complete with her responses so that you can begin to get to know her as well as we do 🙂 Enjoy!

Team Member: What is the best thing about working in West Hills?
Samantha Farag: Coming from a family owned business, I’ve come to appreciate the family atmosphere at STONEFIRE. The people are the best, and we’ve definitely become a family. We’ve gotten a lot of great additions, and the family atmosphere only continues to grow.

TM: Would you ever consider living abroad? If so, where would you like to live?
SF: Yes! I would love to live in London. I’ve always wanted to study abroad, and I think going to grad school there would be awesome.

TM: If you could eat lunch with one famous person, who would it be?
SF: Oh, gosh! I don’t know! I feel like I would have to say the President just so I could say I sat down with the President.

TM: As a Manager in a restaurant, you’re obviously around food a lot. Would you say you do a lot of cooking at home?
SF: [Laughing] No, I get most of meals from here. I am not a good cook. Thankfully, my fiancé, Kasey, does most of the cooking. He and his brothers try to one-up each other, and I just sit back and enjoy (and eat) the result of their competitions.

TM: We just celebrated the 4thof July. What holiday do you consider your favorite?
SF: Christmas has always been my favorite. The atmosphere is always great – from November to the end of December, people are just happy, and it’s super fun time of the year.

TM: We would probably say you’re crazy, because Christmas is also our busiest time of the year.
SF: [Laughing] It’s the best time to work though! Even though you’re working so many hours, you’re all doing it together. That is what makes it fun!

TM: What is your favorite SFG menu item?
SF: I’m going to go simple and say, BBQ Chopped. I actually didn’t try it for the first two years that I worked here, because the idea of putting BBQ sauce in a salad was odd to me. Now, I just dump the BBQ sauce in.

TM: What has SFG taught you?
SF: STONEFIRE has taught me the importance of working as a Team. I think that is the main part of the culture here. Everyone from the Front of the House, the Kitchen and the Management are all working together, and it’s a great thing to see and be a part of.
