I nominate Tiffany Hernandez. She is a single mom to 4. She is always the first person to help people in need. You can find her posts on any of the local SCV community sites. She has her own struggles. She had an unexpected car repair and now is trying to figure out the holidays for her own family. This doesn’t stop her from helping several other families in need. She is selfless and caring. I would love to see her blessed with a gift card.

I nominate my girlfriend, mother of my two daughters for this. She is a teacher who works so hard for her students, tutors for supplemental income and then comes home to make sure our daughters understand and do their homework well. She visits her high risk elderly mom 3-4x a week to make sure she has everything she needs for pandemic. I was laid off and so she’s taken the roll of breadwinner. She visits her older retired teacher friends to check up on them and help with what they need. She truly has a huge heart. She is the best teacher, friend, mother, daughter and partner in life. Best of all, she is a HUGE fan of Stonefire Grill! She had emailed to get branches near our home, before the Lakewood and Torrance location. She takes friends and families to Stonefire and converts them into loyal patrons after one visit, so I guess she is a live commercial who promotes Stonefire Grill simply because it is her favorite place to eat.

My wife is a Internal Medicine RN for Memorial Care in Fountian Valley. She has worked there for over 25 years. Due to Covid 19, she has been assigned to the outdoor drive thru to handle the swabbing of potential covid 19 positive patients. She is out there 6 days a week and 8 hour days, She has to wear this haz mat suit that's looks like something from a sci-fi movie. ( try wearing that, I couldn't do it ). She is a trooper and hasn't missed a day yet. She believes being a RN you have to help patients no matter what symptom's they might have. I'm hoping this vaccine works so she and her fellow RN team mates can go back to some kind of normal and spend more time with there families.

This is all for your hard work in your health department. Without you many others wouldn’t know how to go through their difficult times. Giving them option and listening to them helps them much more than you know

I nominate my brother, Joe. He’s a city employee working for the water department. During this pandemic he’s been out on the field making sure the city runs fine. As an essential worker for the city, he deserves an extra treat this holiday season. Everyone is saying thank you nurses and doctors, but no one is saying thank you city workers: making sure our streets and communities are running well.

Mayra is one of my best friends and has been extraordinary during this pandemic. I can’t imagine having to be a teacher during these times and succeeding. She loves her kids and pays careful attention to each one. Using her money to buy supplies she needs and books to read to her students. Her love and dedication to teaching and to her students is amazing.

Casa Teresa in Orange provides pregnant women in crisis a loving home to begin their healing journey. Also they provide emergency maternity shelter with women struggling with homelessness, substance abuse and other issues.
Volunteers provide meals for the women living in the shelter on a weekly basis. And this would be another way to help and have a volunteer pick up and deliver the meals from Stonefire.

Macy Gracia - Volunteer Center of the San Gabriel Valley
From:
Penny Arroyo
I am very proud and the community is very grateful for Macy Gracia from the Volunteer Center of San Gabriel Valley. Her day includes, packing meals to be delivered to shut-in's of all ages, delivering meals when she's short volunteer drivers, keeping three non-profit offices afloat with 3 staff, managing a declining budget, promoting services that help low income and senior needs in the San Gabriel Valley. When she's not busy with all of that, she coordinates volunteers to help with yard clean-up's, small painting projects and basic home maintenance for low income seniors. You would be surprised how many seniors are out living their friends, family and neighbors. Working on holidays, late evenings and early mornings, knowing the funding isn't there to pay you....it's done because she has a big heart and love for people in need. She's one very special person, in many people's lives!

I have been taking my cars to this shop for many years. They are very reliable, trustworthy, honest and always do a fantastic job with repairs are needed or oil changes. I Trust them enough to refer family members and friends. They have never disappoint us. They are like family. All of them. David, Trini, Julie, and the rest of the workers are wonderful. Thank you 60 minutes for always going above and beyond the call of duty!
