Lakewood – Now Open!

One of Southern California’s most popular fast-casual concepts is banking on Lakewood as home to its newest restaurant location. Known for its expansive, value-oriented menu of high-quality American fare, STONEFIRE Grill opens its 8th location at the former First Bank located at Lakewood Center (4325 Del Amo Blvd.) today, September 1st.  The building is architecturally significant, as it was designed by Maxwell Starkman, a colleague of the legendary Richard Neutra. STONEFIRE Grill was conceived by sisters Mary and Maureen Harrigan, who launched the concept in 2000.  It has been hailed by the CBS Evening News, People Magazine, Los Angeles Times, OC Register and many other media news outlets for its successful approach to family-style dining.

STONEFIRE Grill specializes in such all-American favorites as Mesquite BBQ Tri Tip, BBQ and Lemon Garlic Chicken Breast, Baby Back Ribs, Sesame Glazed Salmon, several oven-baked gourmet pizzas and delicious pasta dishes.  Recently, it expanded its menu to include even more vegetarian options including Whole Roasted Cauliflower topped with Lemon Tahini and chopped parsley (pita and salad versions are also available); The Caprese with smashed grape tomatoes, homemade pesto, fresh mozzarella, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and wild arugula on toasted ciabatta; the Keen Green, a blend of fresh spinach, pesto and quinoa with artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, avocado and Parmesan cheese; and the Healthy Hybrid featuring quinoa with garbanzo beans, red onion, green bell peppers, Kalamata olives, cucumber, tomato and artichoke hearts tossed with Dijon Mustard Vinaigrette and topped with Feta cheese.

Also popular among the lean items are warm, sautéed Shrimp served over quinoa with fresh lemon, olive oil, garlic, chili flakes and chopped parsley.  Homemade desserts including made-from-scratch Carrot Cake, several well-priced wines and a craft beer selection round out the menu.

Unlike full-service restaurants, those visiting STONEFIRE place their order at the counter and have the meal served to them at their table. By eliminating the need for servers to take the meal order, food reaches the table faster and the cost savings is passed down to the guest.  All items are available to-go with a special entrance dedicated to takeout orders, an especially popular feature among busy, working families who are finding it increasingly difficult to prepare wholesome satisfying meals for their families.  STONEFIRE Grill also offers off-site catering, which TV’s Esquire Network praised for “catering a scrumptious meal on a budget.”

“We’re delighted to launch our newest restaurant in Lakewood, which is known as a family-oriented community.  Here, loyalty and a commitment to local concerns are a top priority and that sensibility suits our concept beautifully,” said Justin Lopez, STONEFIRE Grill spokesman. “Our goal is to provide guests with an affordable option to eating at home and the recipe for our success is due to the vast menu of items that are made right in our restaurants each day, pleasant environment in which to dine, great service by a friendly staff and the tremendous value we offer.  We hope that locals welcome us as warmly as they have in the other communities we serve.”

The new STONEFIRE Grill in Lakewood will join sister locations in Chatsworth, West Hills, Valencia, Pasadena, Thousand Oaks, Fountain Valley and Irvine.  For more specific restaurant location information, please click here.
