On July 14, 2016, Zachery Lugo, age 9, thought he was going to dinner with his family. When he arrived at his favorite restaurant, STONEFIRE Grill, he was surprised to see a table reserved for him with balloons and decorations! What he believed was just an ordinary dinner was actually his Wish Presentation Party!
Zachery was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a form of cancer that forms in muscle tissue. He had always wanted to vacation in Hawaii with his family because he had never flown on an airplane, rode on a helicopter or seen a volcano and the Make-A-Wish organization granted him and his family his wish!
Kathy Yee and Sandy Gibbons, the wish granters, arrived early and were greeted by our wonderful team and decorated the table with streamers and balloons. At the Wish Presentation Party, Zachery not only found out about his wish to Hawaii being granted but enjoyed a HUGE bowl of his favorite meal… Macaroni & Cheese! And not just a kid’s size.. a LARGE! Check out the photos to see for yourself!
We are so grateful to have been apart of the celebration and we admire the strength shown by Zachery and his family. Thank you for an incredible evening and we hope Hawaii was everything and more!
